They are generally identified by microscopic markings which can be viewed under a jeweller’s loupe. It’s important that they are distinguished in this way so that customers are informed as to the type of diamond they are buying. However, if your concern is that lab-grown diamonds look “fake”, the answer is no. They are real diamonds, just created differently.

The simplest rule for preserving your engagement ring is to remove it at the end of each day, and before activities where it could be knocked, scratched, or exposed to any harsh chemicals - such as going to the gym, swimming, or doing household cleaning.
